Forum Registration

Once you’ve become an Aspirant in The Council Of The Sword, the first thing you will want to do is register for the forums.  It’s not a difficult task, but we have had to implement a little bit of security to prevent unauthorized intrusion.  Yes, believe it or not, there are people in the world who want to spam guild forums trying to sell illegal cigarettes.  True story.

First, visit  This is where the guild forums are located.  You may not see much when you first go there, but that will change!

Secondly click the “Create A New Profile” link.  It’s at the very top of the page close to the right margin.  Fill in all the information, and be sure to give it an up-to-date e-mail address.  If you give it an invalid e-mail address you won’t be able to complete the verification process.

When you finish filling in your profile, the forums are going to send you an e-mail to the address you specified in your profile.  It should happen almost immediately.  Open the e-mail and click the link inside.  This will complete the first phase of the verification process.

You still won’t be able to do much at this point.  The last part of the verification is “manual” and this is the most important part as far as protecting our forums from spammers.  You must now load World of Warcraft and go to a mailbox in-game.  Send an in-game message to Wetnap telling him that you’ve applied to the forums, and providing the user name and e-mail address you verified with.  (If Wetnap or any of his alts are online, you can conduct this business in a /tell if he’s not busy.)

Normally you should have full forum access within 12-24 hours.  If it takes longer than that, contact any officer and provide them with the same information.

We apologize for making the registration process “a little more difficult” than usual.  Rest assured, we have good reason.  In the first four weeks of forum operation, we had at least three attempts to spam the forums.  These measures exist to protect you (in your future participation in the forums) as much as they exist to protect us.

Thank you for your interest and participation in the Council forums!
